Teaching Development Projects
Teaching Development Grant (CityU)
Teaching Development Grant 2009-2012 call for proposals
The Teaching Development Grant (TDG) supports initiatives of the City University staff and faculty to enhance the quality of teaching and learning at this institution. The TDG is available to academic colleagues to enhance the pedagogical design and curriculum development of their courses. The TDG is supported and funded by the University Grants Committee (UGC), which supports the development of teaching and learning initiatives in tertiary institutions.
The UGC emphasizes that the Grant should not be simply regarded as 'the' source of funding to encourage innovations to enhance the quality of teaching. More succinctly, the UGC requires that the TDG should integrate and complement institution-level initiatives for the better provision of quality education to students. To maximise impact, institutions are expected to focus on system-level improvements with measurable learning outcomes.
Starting from 2009-2010 academic year, an additional focus is added to encourage adoption and expansion of proven Teaching & Learning ideas from the previously funded projects, and to institutionalize successful TDG practices.

Project for Enhancing CityU's Internationalisation Process
The Project for Enhancing CityU's Internationalisation Process Fund (IPF) is primarily for the support of innovation in co-curricular activities with the aim of promoting internationalization and cultural awareness amongst CityU students. Applications are open to all CityU staff and students.
To facilitate effective internationalisation among local institutions, the University Grants Committee (UGC) approved HK$10 million for City University (CityU) to engage in an umbrella project, namely the Project for Enhancing CityU’s Internationalisation Process. Specifically, funds in this Project are used to promote internationalisation and enhance international education experience of the CityU student population; and to support programmes/projects/activities that will extend students' knowledge about overseas countries, their culture and people; and generally broaden students' global outlook.

Quality Education Fund (EDB)
The Quality Education Fund (QEF) was established in 1997 to finance projects for the promotion of quality education in Hong Kong. The establishment of the QEF is one of the major recommendations of the Education Commission Report No.7 (ECR7). The QEF provides an effective channel for projects from the education sector to be funded. The QEF mainly caters for worthwhile non-profit making initiatives within the ambit of basic education, i.e. pre-primary, primary, secondary and special education.
