SG8001 Teaching Students: First Steps
The SG8001 (a one credit pass / fail compulsory course for research postgraduate studentsNote) – aims to prepare participants to undertake a limited teaching role, and provides an introduction to the basic theoretical knowledge and practical skills required to begin teaching at university.

Upon successful completion of this course, students should be able to:
- Describe the context for learning and teaching at City University of Hong Kong.
- Apply Outcomes-Based Teaching and Learning (OBTL) approach in student learning.
- Utilize elearning tools in teaching.
- Deliver a high quality teaching and learning activity.
