What is the LEAP program?
LEAP aims to help you develop your project to become a market product and equip you with attributes of entrepreneurs. Therefore, you will have opportunity to get accelerated training to nurture your key knowledge, practical skills, and the broad exposure required of young bona-fide entrepreneurs.  You will also have opportunity to closely interact with experienced mentors for guidance and support on your own project development. Your project/innovation can be in any sector, from biotech, medical device, hardware, cleantech, fintech, ICT to social enterprise.

LEAP Workshops
We are pleased to inform that a series of workshops and face-to-face mentorship will be held in the coming months. You may need to fulfill 80% attendance requirement for the above activities to receive a LEAP Program Certificate and record participation in CRESDA.

All CityU UGC-funded undergraduate students from different disciplines are eligible to apply. 
But you are required to:

  • have passion and desire to make an impact and drive collaborative innovation in every sector, from biotech, medical device, hardware, cleantech, fintech, ICT to social enterprise.
  • have an enthusiastic and strong team (A multi-disciplinary team is strongly encouraged); and
  • have strong interest and desire to explore business opportunities.

Assessment Criteria:
Applications will be assessed by the following criteria:

  • creativity and innovativeness,
  • impact on society,
  • feasibility of the business model.

Applicants may be invited for an interview.

LEAP Training and Mentorship Arrangements:
Workshops and seminars cover a range of startup essentials such as ideation, prototyping, business evaluation, IP protection and pitching skills.

Duration of the LEAP program: January - May 2017
You are required to attend workshops/seminars and biweekly meetings with mentors and to submit monthly progress reports and a final report upon completion of the LEAP program. 

Face-to Face Mentorship

Students are encouraged to meet mentors for consulting their ideas. Please state your availability and choose ONE timeslot per person/group at
