How does one encourage participative learning? Many students exhibit a reluctance to participate verbally in seminars. Consequently, it is difficult for course facilitators to determine how much content is being absorbed and processed. Indeed, reluctance to engage verbally can promote student disengagement from the learning process. SRS represents one tool for encouraging participation from the silent majority. This grant is intended to serve as seed funding for a progressive study into the effective use of student response systems (SRS).
