The Discovery-enriched Curriculum (DEC) has the goal of giving all our students the opportunity to make an original discovery while at CityU. In that spirit, to continue to support the culture of creativity and discovery among our students, CityU provides the Student Contest Support Fund (SCSF) to support students’ participation in relevant contests/competitions. The fund helps to cover the cost of materials, registration fee, and travel subsidy to support students’ participation in such contests/competitions where they can present their innovative ideas or products.
EDGE supported the winning team in their 3D CAD and 3D printing of the prototype for submission as well as in sponsoring the two awardees to go overseas to receive the prestigious Drury Medal award and to collect £2,500 in prize money at an award ceremony in London back in March 2015.
More information about their award is available on CityU NewsCentre and The Institution of Structural Engineers
