Staff Giving Club Awards

Initiated by the Staff Giving Club Ambassadors from various departments, the Staff Giving Club Awards are established to benefit students direct and enhance student development. The Awards, being named after the Club, is one of the best ways to acknowledge staff giving and to permeate the caring and giving culture to student recipients.

Staff members are welcome to designate their donations to support Staff Giving Club Awards which will be used to:

  • subsidize students to participate in meaningful student projects such as cross-cultural learning activities, social service projects and study tours for enrichment of their life experience
  • provide financial assistance to needy students to enable them to make the best use of the learning opportunities at CityU
REH Khoe (front row, second from left), a student from Burma, received an SGC Award to take a summer study course in Australia. "From the bottom of my heart, I would like to say thank you to the staff donors who have contributed a great deal to my academic venture." said Khoe. "This study trip was a window to the larger world through which I boradened my horizon. I also enjoyed my first trip to experience a different culture and way of life."

A group of students were subsidised by the SGC Awards to visit Cambodia where they worked as volunteers in orphanages. The students learned to cherish how fortunate they are and it is really more blessed to give than to receive.
