City University of Hong Kong
Dr Lloyd Wahl joined the City University of Hong Kong in January 2018 as a Postdoctoral Fellow. In this role he conducts research into antimicrobial resistance and zoonoses at the Centre for Applied One Health Research and Policy Advice.
After studying for an undergraduate degree in Biomedicine, Lloyd completed his PhD in Biomolecular Science at the University of East Anglia, working on a research project with the objective of identifying new therapeutic targets in cancers. He performed structural and functional analysis of E3 ubiquitin ligases responsible for regulating oncogenic signalling pathways including TGFβ and the OCT4 transcription factor. Key findings included the characterisation of substrate selectivity and binding-cooperativity among WW domains of WWP2, the discovery of a new isoform and the elucidation of the structure of a WWP2 protein-protein interaction WW domain.
