Summer Activities 2009
College of Science and Engineering
Scientific innovations have become increasingly important in our daily life. The world has entered an era of high-tech and information-based economy. City University of Hong Kong (CityU) always strives to take the lead to inform our younger generation on the rapid changes in scientific discoveries and technological advancements. To broaden the knowledge base of secondary school students and to reinforce their interests in science, the College of Science and Engineering at CityU has offered a wide range of activities targeting secondary school students in the past years. The activities have received favourable responses from the secondary school community, as well as the general public.
With these aspirations in mind and experiences accumulated in past years, the College will again organize the three major programmes to enrich the summer of secondary school students who are interested in science and engineering. The programmes are (i) Student Project Exhibition (SPE), (ii) Project-based Outreach Programme (POP), and (iii) Science and Engineering Fun Days (SEFD). These programmes cover engineering science, physical and life sciences, with emphasis on both the content and the learning process. The experience would certainly be both inspiring and exciting for secondary school students.
