Starting from the academic year 2006-07, CityU requires all international and non-local students to subscribe to a personal accident and medical insurance/travel insurance policy covering the related medical costs arising from accidents and nature illnesses during their study period at the University.

Exchange students who will study at CityU for more than 180 days - MUST purchase a personal accident and medical insurance policy which will be arranged on the behalf of students by CityU upon enrolment. All the premium costs will be borne by individual students.

Exchange students who will study at CityU for less than 180 days - SHOULD purchase an insurance policy that will cover hospitalisation and medical expenses incurred during their study in Hong Kong prior to leaving their home country/region.
