During the last semester, a total of seven Small Talks were successfully held and more than 170 staff participated. The talks covered quite diversified topics like "What is a Modem?", "10 Ways to communicate electronically", "Introduction to Client/Server", "Optimizing MS Windows 3.1", and "Oracle Database Query Tips". All these talks were held in a casual manner by our CSC colleagues. It is through these talks that our staff will be able to understand better about our users' needs and be able to act upon them promptly.

This semester, we would like to concentrate on topics which are closely related to daily usage. The most recent talk on decoding/encoding email attracted a good number of audience which almost marked a new record. Two talks have been scheduled in coming March,: "Ways of preparing attractive presentation visuals (13 March) and "Reading Chinese on Internet" (27 March). Mark your calendar now and we look forward to seeing you in the talks!
