What's in a Name?

 

On 15 May 1995, the Computer Centre's name changed to Computing Services Centre to better reflect our purpose: to anticipate and provide computing services needed for teaching, research, and administration.

The name change also brings about some changes in titles as follows:

Head	becomes	Director of Computing Services
Senior Systems Analyst		Assoc. Director of Computing Services
Systems Analyst		Systems Manager
Analyst/Programmer I		Computer Officer
Computer Supervisor		Computer Officer
Analyst/Programmer II		Assistant Computer Officer

As with the change from City Polytechnic to City University, our name change formally recognises a role that already exists, and one we will continue to fulfil in future.
