The Computing Services Centre (CSC) has recently worked with the Personnel Office (PO) to make personal data more accessible to staff. The effort resulted in a system developed by the Administrative Data Processing Section called the Personal Data Enquiry System.

With it, staff can now verify that the PO has up-to-date information on their educational background, professional qualifications, work history, salary, and benefits entitlement. Managers can also view job-related information, however they cannot view personal information.

The system will increase staff input over their personal data, and also reduce the number of routine enquiries the PO has to answer. To make this possible, the system integrates information from the University Yellow Pages and the Payroll System.

New features continue to be added. In future, the Personal Data Enquiry System may also be used for enquiries on how much leave staff have accumulated and spent.
