Induction Program for New Staff and Graduate Students

 

On 16 September 1994, the Computer Centre participated in a polytechnic-wide Induction Program for new staff organised by the Personnel Office An orientation talk was given to introduce the CC's facilities and services to new staff. With nearly fifty staff attending, it was one of the best attended of the many induction programs.

To familiarise graduate students with City University computer services, the CC organised an Orientation Talk on 8 November 1994. The talk targeted new full-time research students, but other postgraduate students were also welcome. Approximately twenty-five graduate students attended the meeting, and many participants showed keen interest. Some even stayed behind after the meeting with extra questions.

In addition to helping future users, the programme also produced valuable suggestions for added services. The CC found these orientation programmes worthwhile, and will consider organising similar functions in 1995.
