Q. | Why using dual purpose lines (Lines good for both CityLink/CityLink Plus)? |
To better utilise the dial-up resources. If most lines are fixed for either CityLink or CityLink Plus only, even there are free lines, they can't be used for the other type of connection. |
Q. | Why grouping the lines into 5 telephone numbers?
- | Different types of dial-up lines (datel vs T1) can't be mixed, so they need to have different numbers.
- | To differentiate dual purpose lines/CityLink Plus lines.
- | To implement different time-out schemes. |
Q. | Why can't I connect to the CityLink Plus service after it becomes free?
- | Old CityLink/CityLink Plus users may not realise that they have to use the UNIX account and password to login.
- | User doesn't know his/her correct UNIX account password.
- | Access procedures hasn't been changed accordingly for the new arrangement.
- | Free and unlimited connection attracts more users to try out the service.
- | Too many users to compete for the CityLink Plus only lines without trying the more available dual purpose lines. |
