A news system is a major vehicle used for distribution and organization of the massive amount of Internet news. In simple terms, it can be described as a "distributed bulletin board system" Each participating news site maintains its own "bulletin board" on a news server. The news server is a central information software that manages single copies of all new and old news items. It interacts with other news servers at remote sites to trade and distribute new news items. Persons at the site can then read news or add new news by interacting with the local news server via some form of news reading utility.
