Word Processor User Group

Horizontal Rule Issue Date

[Meeting]Guess what happened in CC on 8 August 1994? Right! The Word Processor User Group (the first user group in CC) had our very first meeting on that day. Around twenty enthusiastic WordPerfect users joined the meeting and we had a very productive discussion on the topic "WordPerfect Table - No Longer a Headache".

We started off by having a riddle about manipulating tables in WordPerfect. Then, some of the users began to throw out questions and problems that they had encountered when dealing with WordPerfect tables in their work. Mysteries like "How to build a table in a column?" & "Why does WordPerfect hang in large tables?" have been resolved. Towards the end, a number of tips on using WordPerfect tables were given to those who were present in the meeting.

There were about forty other group members who could not come to the first meeting. To let them share the results of our discussion, all the questions and problems which have been raised in the meeting are posted on the private staff channel board #21 in PolyLink. This board serves as a usage hint book to assist them in using their word processors more efficiently. Also, it provides a channel for them to voice out their problems and to share their experience.

We are hoping that more word processors users will come and join our group meetings. We believe that the more they share, the more they learn. Your participation is the key to the success of the user group. To become a member of the user group, interested staff can either call extension 9834 for application details or simply show up in the next user meeting and apply on the spot.
