Printing, Plotting and Scanning Facilities

Printing Services

1.      Local laser printers are installed in the CSC Student Terminal Area with several workstations sharing one printer.  Local printing is free of charge to students and is limited by the print quota allocated to them.  However, students must bring along their own printing paper.

2.      Express laser printers are located inside the Printing and Plotting Room and specially set up for printing small print jobs.  Their uses are subject to the same print quota mentioned above and a maximum time session as specified in the booking ticket.  Booking for these printers can be made using the local booking system located near these printers.

3.       The Fast Network Printing Service is a charged service to supplement the existing quota-based printing service with the following purposes:

·         Provides self-service printing in both Colour and in Black & White;

·         Supports high-volume printing at fast speed, and

·         Provides low-cost printing when the allocated print quota is used up.

Two high-performance colour laser printers (Fast Network Printers) are in the corridor between Room E and Room F.  Users may follow the instructions posted near these printers to print and release their Black & White/Colour printouts.
