The Brazil bougainvillea has been selected as the official flower of the University by the campus community. The plant, which is tough, highly resilient and blossoms throughout the year, strongly reflects the University's character. It perfectly captures the idea of growth and new life.
That said, there are altogether over 60 different kinds of shrub and tree cultivated on campus. Each has its own character and blooming cycle. The abundant plant life shows how Mother Nature thrives in unspoiled harmony with the iconic architecture of our rapidly growing University, unfolding new contours that enrich our campus landscape.
We firmly believe that nature is our best teacher, which is why CityU remains committed to maintaining campus biodiversity in pursuit of higher levels of creativity.
