Spring is in the air, and campus is bursting to life in a riot of colour! It is the best time of year for budding photographers to prove their worth!

We are holding a photography contest to celebrate the establishment of CityU's official flower: the Brazil bougainvillea.

The best shots of this magnificent plant on campus will win awesome prizes. The best shot will win a MacBook Pro!

We hope the contest will encourage the CityU community to discover the beauty of the Brazil bougainvillea and our garden-like campus. The photos will also promote our admiration for nature.

Brazil Bougainvillea

The Brazil bougainvillea has been selected as the official flower of the University by the campus community. The plant, which is tough, highly resilient and blossoms throughout the year, strongly reflects the University's character. It perfectly captures the idea of growth and new life.

That said, there are altogether over 60 different kinds of shrub and tree cultivated on campus. Each has its own character and blooming cycle. The abundant plant life shows how Mother Nature thrives in unspoiled harmony with the iconic architecture of our rapidly growing University, unfolding new contours that enrich our campus landscape.

We firmly believe that nature is our best teacher, which is why CityU remains committed to maintaining campus biodiversity in pursuit of higher levels of creativity.
