The CityU sports teams regularly produce outstanding performances in the intercollegiate sports competitions organised by the University Sports Federation of Hong Kong, China (USFHK). No other higher education institution in Hong Kong has won the overall championships as many times as CityU, a feat due to quality of our student athletes, the professionalism of CityU’s trainers and coaches, and the mentoring and training structures and programmes set up to nurture sporting excellence.
One of the highlights of our sports calendar is fielding teams of runners for long-distance races such as local and international marathons, all of which boost team spirit and a greater sense of belonging. Professor Way Kuo, CityU President, has led teams of CityU runners at local and regional long-distance running events for the past 10 years, strongly upholding the idea that sport brings people together. .
