About Us
COSDAF was established in 1998,
with Professor Shuit-Tong LEE as the
founding director, under the enthusiastic support of City
University of Hong Kong (CityU), Research Grants Councils, Innovation and Technology
Commission and various Foundations and
industrials sponsors to work on the areas of
nanomaterials & nanotechnology, organic light-emitting devices (OLED),
nanodiamond and superhard thin films. As one of the six research centers
at CityU, COSDAF aspires to be internationally-recognized as a leading research
center in the Asia-Pacific region, and strives to deliver cutting-edge
nanoscience and nanotechnology, flat panel display technology and advanced thin
films technologies to industries.

Our Mission
...To encourage and reinforce
collaborative research in the area of nanomaterials & nanotechnology,
organic light-emitting devices (OLED), nanodiamond and superhard thin films,
with the intention for COSDAF to become a world-renowned center of
excellence.
...To assist Hong Kong industries in
their implementation of technologies based on nanomaterials &
nanotechnology, organic light-emitting devices (OLED), nanodiamond and superhard
thin films.
...To enhance the image and
reputation of the City University of Hong Kong as a
university which cultivates high-quality research technology useful in a wide
variety of industrial applications.
...To promote and support additional
research opportunities in collaboration with institutions in China in the area
of nanomaterials & nanotechnology, organic light-emitting devices (OLED),
nanodiamond and superhard thin films.
