Introduction

The Department of Media and Communication offers the following minors:
  1. Minor in Media Communication (媒體傳播)
    This minor aims to offer a critical examination of the interplay between media and society by focusing on the structure and processes of mediated communication in terms of their form and content at various levels in different contexts, ranging from the micro to the macro. The theoretical and practical questions emphasize the production, dissemination and consumption of media content in society as well as their impacts on individuals and nations at large.
  2. Minor in Public Relations and Advertising (公共關係與廣告)
    This minor aims to help students learn the art of persuasive communication in both public relations and advertising. Students learn the concepts, processes, management, and skills of integrated marketing communication.

Targeted Students

The Minors are intended for all students enrolled in bachelor’s degree programmes of the University (except students major in BAMDCM and BATVB), subject to University’s and parent departments’ policy and regulation.

In accordance with University regulations, the Minors consist of 18 credits.
