PROGRAMME AIMS

Upon successful completion of this programme, students will be able to:

  • Demonstrate Japanese language skills at an appropriate level (Japanese Language Proficiency Examination N3 Level ) for academic and employment-related purposes ;
  • Articulate an understanding of Japanese culture and society ;
  • Explain Japan’s socio-political, cultural and economic ties with other East Asian countries ;
  • Identify and explore critically problems, gather relevant information, carry out and present basic research under guidance, and propose solutions to address problems responsibly both individually and as part of a team ;
  • Relate the major ideas in arts and humanities, science and technology to their own area of study.

FURTHER STUDIES AND CAREER PROSPECTS

  • Articulation routes to local and overseas universities are provided to graduates. Students can articulate to Japan’s Nagasaki International University and Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University. For details, please refer to the iPASS of HKSAR at http://www.ipass.gov.hk/eng/ .
  • As a competent Japanese speaker, your familiarity with Japanese language and culture will be in demand in many sectors of the economy.
  • Tourism, hospitality, commerce, education, office administration, public relations, translation and interpretation are just some of the many sectors in which you will be able to find employment and develop a career.
