Associate of Science in Creative and Interactive Media Production

PROGRAMME AIMS

Upon successful completion of this programme, students will be able to:

  • Relate creativity, aesthetics and media technology to areas of media design and production;
  • Apply media and information methodologies, independently or within a team, to develop interactive multimedia systems and enhance the levels of quality in production process;
  • Relate the major ideas in arts and humanities, science and technology to their own area of study;
  • Appreciate the major socio-political, cultural and economic issues that may affect media production;
  • Practise in an ethical, responsible and professional manner, and apply safety and health measures at work;
  • Communicate effectively in a culturally diversified workplace.

FURTHER STUDIES AND CAREER PROSPECTS

  • Graduates may continue their studies in relevant degree programmes, both locally and overseas. Examples are: BSc (Hons) in Creative Media, BA (Hons) in Creative Media and BAS (Hons) in New Media offered by the City University of Hong Kong; BA (Hons) in Digital Media and BA (Hons) in Interactive Media at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University; Bachelor of Design of the Swinburne University of Technology, BA (Hons) Design for Digital Media and BSc (Hons) Design for Digital Media at the University of Winchester, etc. For details, please refer to the programme’s website http://www.dco.cityu.edu.hk/AScCIMP and the iPASS of HKSAR at http://www.ipass.gov.hk/eng/.
  • Graduates can find employment related to media creation and production, post media production, digital sound/video recording and editing. Graduates will qualify for a wide range of positions in the media industry which include animators, multimedia producers, interactive multimedia system developer, production designer, and new media designer.
