Associate of Business Administration (Hospitality Management)
PROGRAMME AIMS
On completion of the Programme, students should have acquired the essential knowledge in business studies and hospitality services, the competencies for taking up frontline managerial responsibility in related fields, and the intellectual capacity for higher level education. Specially, students will be able to:
- Apply basic business administrative skills in a commercial setting;
- Describe the activities of hospitality services;
- Apply effective communication and practice skills in the provision of hospitality services;
- Perform tasks pertaining to the management of hospitality services;
- Apply concepts and theories in business administration to hospitality management practices.
MAIN SUBJECT AREAS
- The business syllabuses are designed to provide students with a sound foundation in business. Subjects are: Marketing, Principles of Management, Financial Accounting, Cost Management, Business Information Systems, Business Statistics, Principles of Macro and Micro Economics.
- The Hospitality Management syllabuses are designed to provide students with the necessary knowledge and skills for jobs in hospitality management. Subjects are: Introduction to Hospitality Management, Cross-Cultural Communication, Front Office and Housekeeping Operations, MICE Management, Gaming and Entertainment Management, Food and Beverage Service Management, Event and Festival Management, Managing Human Resources in Hospitality Services, Hospitality Management Attachment and Integrated Project in Hospitality Management.
- Languages subjects include: English and Chinese Communication Skills for Business.
PROGRAMME SPECIFIC ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS
- Passes in HKCEE/ HKALE AS/ HKALE must include one of the following subjects:
- Mathematics, Additional Mathematics, Pure Mathematics and Applied Mathematics, or equivalent
