The lecture series of Global China Studies titled “The Concept of Politics in Confucianism” was successfully held on 26th November, 2015. Professor Jiang Yi-Huah of Stanford University, gave a presentation on "politics" in ancient Confucianism discussed in the
Four Books (四書). During the lecture, Professor Jiang emphasised the characteristics of the concept of Confucian politics by comparing the Confucian tradition and western political thought. In addition, analysis between strength and weakness of the Confucian concept of politics, as well as the possibilities of practicing Confucianism in modern liberal democracy were demonstrated.
