Release of New Issue of CITY CLASS Magazine

The College Office is delighted to present the latest issue of CITY CLASS magazine. Over the past few months, the College has staged a number of events to foster communication among the university, secondary schools and the local community. The magazine showcases many noteworthy endeavours and achievements of the College’s faculty and students.

The 8th issue of CITY CLASS features the pilot scheme on On-site Pre-school Rehabilitation Services. The project leader, Dr Anna HUI, Associate Professor in the Department of Social and Behavioural Sciences, was appointed by the Hong Kong government to lead the research and consulting team for the pilot scheme on On-site Pre-school Rehabilitation Services. The scheme aims to facilitate cooperation among schools, families and the community so that timely rehabilitation services can be provided to children with special needs, which is of paramount importance.  Dr Hui expects her research findings will help train social work and psychology undergraduates to handle cases of such special needs students.

The College is committed to generating knowledge exchanges and making a positive impact on society.  This issue captures a discussion on sustainable food solutions at the latest CityU’s Sustainability Lecture Series to inspire students to become more engaged in environmental issues.  A series of talks and interactive events for primary school children, with the aim of introducing youngsters to early career counselling, are also featured. Many CityU undergraduates volunteered to help with the event preparation to serve the needy.

Hard copies of CITY CLASS are available at the College office. The e-version is accessible at http://www.cityu.edu.hk/class/magazine.
