College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences
First Year Experience Project
Introduction
The College has designed a comprehensive “First Year Experience Project” for BDCLASS students which aims to provide them with opportunities to foster their whole person development by building their all-round abilities, and to enable them to have a smooth transition from secondary school to university study. This project consists of a few components, including College Mentoring Course (CLA1002 “Fundamentals of University Learning”), Advisor-Student Meetings, Student Mentoring Scheme, Lunch Gatherings with Freshmen, College Study Tours, and DEC Activity. Through a variety of approaches, the first-year students are expected to be able to adjust themselves to the university life and build up a good foundation to achieve success in both personal and academic aspects.
