City University Phiharmonic Orchestra (CityUPO) was founded in 2000, with the funding support from the Cultural & Sports Committe and the advice of Student Development Services of the University.

Members of the Orchestra include CityU students, staff and alumni. The CityUPO aims to enhance the appreciation of classical music among the University members, to develop music talents of fellow students and to establish a close link among its members and music lovers.

Since its inception, the Orchestra has organized annual performances and summer concerts reguarly. The CityUPO has also been invited to perform in various large scale University events and external music activities. In future, the CityUPO will continue to strive for artistic excellence and promote classical music on campus as well as in the community.
