The Urban Research Group is organising a symposium on Urban Activism: A dialogue - East and West, North and South
on the 18-19th of March 2016
at CityU. The symposium is organised by Prof Ngai Ming, Dr Miguel Martinez and Dr Xiaoyi Sun, with speakers from Latin America, Europe, Australia and Asia.
The symposium will focus on three areas:
- New issues, new perspectives to activism that has the potential in bringing social change;
- New cultural meaning that enables local movements to increase the capacity to intervene in civic society;
- the specific social, economic and political context that help to advance our understanding of urban activism.
The symposium welcomes non-presenting participants and further details is available from Dr Xiaoyi Sun (email@example.com). We will also publish more information nearer to the event.
