Keynote speech on Green-building in Shenzhen, China
Xiaoling Zhang recently gave a keynote speech at the 9th Summit Forum for China Green Real Estate Development in Shenzhen, China.
Her talk reviewed the historical development of green-building concept from the theoretical to the practical perspective. She also addressed the transferring mechanisms to turn ‘green’ into ‘gold’ by comparing the benchmarking real estate enterprise with non-benchmark ones. Finally, she concluded that both institutional and market pressures should be exerted in a way that ensures that all new buildings and developments give due recognition to such interconnected issues as energy and water efficiency, resource-efficient construction, improved lighting and mechanical design, and building ecology.
