Summer Study Tour Programme to Australia

In collaboration with The University of Wollongong (UOW), UOWCHK/CCCU will organize a 14-day Summer Study Tour Programme to Wollongong, Australia from 5 August to 19 August 2018. Located on the Southeastern coast of Australia, Wollongong is just 90 minutes by train from Sydney, offering all the facilities, entertainment and conveniences of the city, with a friendly, relaxed atmosphere of a diverse multicultural community. The Programme will include academic activities, language classes and eye-opening visits to places of interest. For details, you may refer to the attached draft Programme Schedule. Please note that more structured English Enhancement classes will be arranged for Mainland students and that pre-tour English preparation is required for them. However, they will join the whole group for other activities.

Eligibility: All Full-time AD and UOW Top-up Students
Quota: 50
Total Fee: HKD$14,500
UOWCHK/CCCU Sponsorship: Up to a maximum of HKD$4,000* (After deducting the sponsorship of HKD$4,000, students are only required to pay a fee of HKD$10,500. However, only students studying in Hong Kong are eligible to apply for the sponsorship.)

* UOWCHK/CCCU will provide sponsorship to those students who are not eligible to apply for the “Scheme for Subsidy on Exchange for Post-Secondary Students” (SSE) and the sponsorship will only be given to the students upon successful completion of the programme.




Local students who are in receipt of means-tested student financial assistance from the Working Family and Student Financial Assistance Agency (WFSFAA) or whose families are in receipt of the Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA), can apply for the Scheme for Subsidy on Exchange for Post-secondary Students (SSE).


Under the SSE Scheme, the maximum amount of subsidy per student would be up to HKD$14,000. The actual amount of subsidy to be granted to students would be calculated by applying the latest level of student finance (in terms of percentage of full grant) approved by WFSFAA to the maximum amount (HKD$14,000).


Pursuant to the EDB’s operating guidelines, applicants should be enrolled in a UOWCHK/CCCU full-time AD / Top-up Degree Programme at the time of application and throughout the duration of the subsidised programme. In this connection, students who will graduate from UOWCHK/CCCU in July 2018 will not be eligible to apply for the SSE Scheme.
