PROGRAMME AIMS

Upon successful completion of this programme, students will be able to:

  • Communicate competently in English and Chinese as ethical professional communicators in a range of positions including as Public Relations Practitioners ;
  • Apply communication strategies and PR skills to the practice of public relations ;
  • Demonstrate the use of information technology for PR purposes ;
  • Employ strong generic skills for lifelong learning and employment including self-directed, directed and cooperative learning strategies; interpersonal, small group and intercultural communicative competence; and, quantitative and qualitative analytical skills ;
  • Draw on some of the major ideas in arts and humanities, science and technology to their own area of study.

FURTHER STUDIES AND CAREER PROSPECTS

  • Articulation routes offer Associate Degree graduates the possibility of obtaining a first degree in such programmes as the BA (Hons) in Media and Communication (CityU), the BA (Hons) in English for International Corporate Communication (CityU SCOPE) and a number of other UGC-funded, self-financed and top-up programmes.   • With enhanced skills in English and Chinese in addition to knowledge, practice and skills in public relations, communication, document design and marketing, graduates will have excellent career prospects in a number of communication-intense fields.
