PROGRAMME AIMS
Upon successful completion of this programme, students will be able to:
- Demonstrate artistic skills and abilities in developing and proposing design ideas and creative solutions to problems;
- Produce and present aesthetically informed visual communication pieces by using appropriate skills and information technology tools and relevant media;
- Conduct visual communication research with a critical mind;
- Examine and be aware of major socio-economic, political and cultural issues, development in science and technology, and ethical controversies affecting design trend and design industries in the local, regional and global contexts.
FURTHER STUDIES AND CAREER PROSPECTS
- Articulation routes to local and overseas universities offer graduates the possibility of obtaining a first degree such as Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Creative Media at City University of Hong Kong and Bachelor of Design (Communication Design) at Swinburne University of Technology through CityU SCOPE. - Digital visual communications have created ever-growing career opportunities. As graduates of this programme, you will have the necessary academic and technical foundation to find job opportunities in the communication design and multimedia production sectors. You can take up independent creative or technical positions between technical staff and senior designers. The wide range of employment includes art directors (in the field of design and advertising), desktop publishing designers, web designers, 3D modelers, animators, assistant producers, and other creative jobs that require conventional and digital visual communication skills.
