Associate of Science in Information Technology (Logistics/ Accountancy/ Leisure and Tourism)

PROGRAMME AIMS

  • to provide students with a solid foundation in the applied aspects of computer technology in general, together with an application domain in logistics, accountancy or leisure and tourism studies;
  • to prepare students for degree studies both locally and overseas.

MAIN SUBJECT AREAS

  • Computer and the Web: introduces students to the basic components and functions of the computer
  • Application Programming and Development: develops students’ ability in problem solving with a variety of programming languages and computer platforms
  • Software Design and Management: provides training in task analysis, interface evaluation and design, software quality management, and professional ethics, health and work safety awareness
  • Database and Networking: focuses on analysis, design and implementation of computer systems for user application and development
  • Logistics/Accountancy/Leisure and Tourism Study: an application domain study that develops students’ awareness and provides a working knowledge in the chosen domain of study for IT application
  • Business and Communication: a supporting theme that develops business awareness, language proficiency, management and interpersonal skills

SPECIAL FEATURES

  • This programme is professionally oriented with regular input from experts in the industry, such as IT directors, human resources and training managers, IT educators and field practitioners.
  • Students will have opportunities to participate in overseas study tours and exchange programmes.
