PROGRAMME AIMS
Upon successful completion of this programme, students will be able to:
- Demonstrate skills in solving problems that are likely to be encountered in business practices;
- Apply relevant business knowledge in analyzing various business scenarios;
- Demonstrate understanding of ethical and professional practices in both local and international dimensions;
- Apply presentational skills, understanding of principles of communication, and fluent, accurate and appropriate use of the English/Chinese language for individual and corporate communication requirements.
FURTHER STUDIES AND CAREER PROSPECTS
- Graduates can continue their studies in a business-related degree programme, both locally and overseas. Graduates can apply for senior-year admission to BBA (Hons) programmes offered by City University of Hong Kong and both government-funded and self-financing business degree programmes offered by other local universities. For overseas universities, graduates can apply for admission to senior year of business degree programmes (which are offered either locally or in overseas countries), e.g. Curtin University of Technology, Macquarie University, De Montfort University, University of Hull, Edinburgh Napier University, Northumbria University, Oxford Brookes University, University of Portsmouth, etc. For details, please refer to the iPASS of HKSAR at http://www.ipass.gov.hk/eng/.
- The market offers vast employment opportunities at associate professional positions in various business sectors where good communication skills and business skills are needed.
MAIN SUBJECT AREAS

The curriculum is designed not only to provide students with a firm foundation in business such as Financial Accounting, Global Business Strategy, Management, Economics I and II, China Business Management, Business Communications Project.

For Communication Studies, English option includes Communication & Critical Thinking and English Language Enrichment etc.; OR Chinese option includes Essentials of Chinese Language and English Communication Skills for Business etc.
PROGRAMME SPECIFIC ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS
- Passes in HKCEE/ HKALE AS/ HKALE must include one of the following subjects:
- Mathematics, Additional Mathematics, Pure Mathematics and Applied Mathematics, or equivalent
AND
- For the English Communication Studies option, one of the following English language requirements:
- E in HKALE AS Use of English/ AL English Literature or
- D in HKCEE English Language (Syl. B)/ English Literature/ Level 3 English Language,
- B in any Pre-AD English Course
- Or equivalent qualifications
OR
- For Chinese Communication Studies option, one of the following Chinese language requirements:
- E in HKALE AS Chinese Language and Culture/ AL Chinese Literature or
- D in HKCEE Chinese Language/ Chinese Literature/ Level 3 Chinese Language
- B in any Pre-AD Chinese Course
- Or equivalent qualifications
