Associate of Business Administration (Financial Services)
PROGRAMME AIMS
Upon successful completion of this programme, students will be able to:
- Apply broad-based business knowledge and problem solving skills to a wide range of issues;
- Apply theories, concepts and skills relating to financial services in academic and work situations to produce quality outputs giving regard to ethical and social responsibility implications;
- Examine the major socio-political, cultural and economic issues affecting financial markets in the local, national, regional and international contexts;
- Apply generic skills like information technology, quantitative and analytical reasoning in a range of spheres;
- Communicate efficiently in English as well as Chinese, both orally and in writing, in different business environments;
- Relate the major ideas in arts and humanities, science and technology to their own area of study.
FURTHER STUDIES AND CAREER PROSPECTS
- Graduates can continue their studies in a business-related degree programme, both locally and overseas. Graduates can apply for senior-year admission to BBA (Hons) programmes offered by City University of Hong Kong and both government-funded and self-financing business degree programmes offered by other local universities. For overseas universities, graduates can apply for admission to senior year of business degree programmes (which are offered either locally or in overseas countries), e.g. Curtin University of Technology, Macquarie University, De Montfort University, University of Hull, Edinburgh Napier University, Northumbria University, Oxford Brookes University, University of Portsmouth, etc. For details, please refer to the iPASS of HKSAR at http://www.ipass.gov.hk/eng/.
- Graduates of this programme may find employment in banks, insurance companies and other institutions dealing with investment and financial planning. Normally graduates may take up customer relations, marketing, financial planning or other front office positions in these institutions. Some may take up management trainee positions and be posted to operations or supporting units.

PROGRAMME SPECIFIC ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS
- E or above in either one of the following HKCEE/ HKALE AS/ HKALE subjects: Mathematics, Additional Mathematics, Pure Mathematics and Applied Mathematics, or equivalent
- Level 2 or above in HKDSE Mathematics
