SELF-FINANCING PROGRAMMES

All applicants should apply to the Community College of City University. Due to limited number of intake quota, applicants are encouraged to submit their applications as soon as possible.

Submission of Applications


  • (1) By Mail

    Completed application forms should be posted to Community College of City University, 6/F, Mong Man-wai Building, Tat Chee Avenue, Kowloon Tong, Kowloon


  • (2) In Person

    Completed application forms can be dropped into the collection boxes outside either of these offices from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm daily:

    • Community College of City University, 6/F, Mong Manwai Building, Tat Chee Avenue, Kowloon Tong, Kowloon [Kowloon Tong MTR Station Exit C]

    • Community College of City University, Telford Annex, G/F., Telford Plaza, 33 Wai Yip Street, Kowloon Bay [Kowloon Bay MTR Station Exit B]


  • (3) Walk-In Application Days
    Completed application forms can be submitted during walk-in application days
    • For AD programmes: (29-30 March, 2008, 30 June -6 July, 2008 and 30 July-3 Aug, 2008)
    • For Pre-AD programme: (4 Aug – 10 Aug, 2008)


Payment of Application Fee


Application fee can be paid:

  • by direct deposit or ATM transfer at any branch of the Hang Seng Bank (A/C number: 293-318028-004) or
  • by Octopus payment in the College Office located at both Kowloon Tong and Telford

Required Documents


The following documents should be submitted together with the completed application form:

  • Photocopies of relevant certificates and transcripts
  • Photocopy of HKID card or passport
  • The original proof of application fee payment
    (Please DO NOT send personal cheques or cash.)

Interview


Applicants will be notified by mail if they are required to attend an interview during the selection period.

Result of Application


All applicants will be notified of the result of their application by mail. Successful applicants will receive an offer letter. To confirm acceptance, students are required to pay the tuition fee on or before the deadline indicated in the offer letter. Candidates should not assume that their application is unsuccessful if they do not receive an immediate reply, but should await notification of the outcome.

GOVERNMENT-FUNDED PROGRAMME (Associate of Social Science in Social Work)

HKALE candidates should apply through JUPAS. All other applicants should apply directly to the Admissions Office of City University of Hong Kong.

OTHER IMPORTANT POINTS FOR APPLICANTS

Multiple Applications

You may submit up to three applications for different programmes of study in the same division. Applicants wishing to apply for programmes in different divisions are required to complete separate forms and pay an additional application fee of HK$150 per division.

Provision of False Information

The qualifications stated in your application form will be verified and checked for accuracy at the time of enrollment. Provision of any false or misleading information in the form, or failure to supply the full documentation for verification on request, will lead to DISQUALIFICATION of the application for admission and enrollment in the College. Fees paid will NOT be refunded.

Change of Correspondence Information after Submission of Application

If there are changes to your correspondence information (postal address, contact phone number, and e-mail address) after you have submitted your application, you can notify us by fax: 2788-8181 or email (college.admission@cityu.edu.hk). You may be asked to provide documentary proof of these changes.

You are reminded to keep your correspondence information updated to ensure timely receipt of communications from the College regarding your application.

Applicants with Physical or Other Disabilities

The admission of an applicant to the College is based on academic criteria and other specified entrance requirements. If you have a physical or other disabilities, you are not required to declare this at the application stage, and you will receive the same consideration as other applicants. Applicants with a physical disability who feel that this might substantially hamper their progress are invited to discuss their situation with the relevant programme leader.

Use of Application Information

The information that you provide in the application form, including the HKID card number, will be used for the following purposes:

  • as a basis for various types of processing in relation to your application;

  • as a basis for selection of applicants for admission in September 2008 to the self-financing programmes offered by the College, and for other relevant or related purposes;

  • as a basis for consideration of credit transfer as appropriate;

  • for identifying multiple applications and records of previous studies as a student in the College;

  • for transfer to the student record system of the College upon the successful outcome of your application.

In accordance with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance, you have the right of access to, and the right of correction of, the information contained in the application form, and the right to request a copy of such data.

Programme under approval

The programme Associate of Business administration (Hospitality Management) is pending approval. For possible updates, please visit our College website at www.cityu.edu.hk/cccu.

Cancellation of Programmes

The College reserves the right to cancel any programme. Fees already paid for such programmes will be refunded.

Credit Transfer

If you have completed equivalent courses at a post-secondary institution, you may be eligible to apply for credit transfer to your chosen programme upon admission to the College.

At the discretion of individual programme admission staff, credit transfer and admission may be assessed at the same time. If you are likely to be eligible for credit transfer, please provide full information of your previous studies in the admission application form and attach relevant copies of transcripts.
