Training Services (Project CARATS)

Career Advisory Resources and Training Services Project (Project CARATS) aims to equip students of the Community College of City University for joining society’s workforce and improve their employability upon graduation by providing them with comprehensive career-related learning opportunities and support training. With the establishment of Project CARATS Office, a series of career preparation training seminars, workshops, company visits, internship and job-shadowing programmes will be organized. Through these activities, participating students will be able to develop essential job application and interview skills. They will also acquire practical knowledge and realistic understanding of the employment market, reflect on their interest in the relevant industry and enhance their personal attributes like self-confidence, communication and self-presentation skills.

自2013年起,和富社會企業、和富領袖網絡於每年暑假均會舉辦「和你一起。翱翔萬里」 大專生暑假內地實習計劃,旨在讓青年了解國家經濟發展與職場實況,從而探索自己未來的工作發展方向,為投身社會作好準備。今年的實習計劃將安排80名本地青年人於6月至8月期間到北京及上海當地企業進行為期4至5星期的實習。

The Summer Internship Programme 2017 of Hong Kong Housing Society (HKHS) now invites applications from students who are interested in undergoing internship programme from mid-June to mid-August this year.

 

The Summer Internship Programme

  1. The internship period is normally from mid-June to mid-August
  2. All selected summer interns are required to attend a closing ceremony in August
  3. Apart from on-the-job training, the programme may include workshops to enhance the personal development of the students.
  4. Salary will be provided for all summer interns with reference to the general market rate.
  5. Evaluation will be conducted upon completion of the summer internship programme to collect comments from both the summer interns and their mentors.

The Shun Hing Group, a well-established group of companies with about 1,800 staff, has been offering the Shun Hing Internship Programme (SHIP) to provide on-the-job trainings to non-final-year students of local tertiary institutions for many years. Applications for their internship positions this year are now open, and positions for sub-degree students include those particularly suitable for students from the business-related, engineering, marketing or communications areas of study.

 

Main Responsibilities:

Summer Interns will be assigned, according to their strengths and attributes, to work in one of the Group companies, supporting Sales & Marketing, Human Resources & Training, Finance & Accounting, Logistics, Building Services/System Engineering or other office support functions.

 

Duration:

Deadline of Application: February 24, 2017

 

Eligibility:

  • Full time students studying in Associate Degree
  • Majoring in Applied Social Sciences, Psychology, Counseling, Social Studies, Social Work

 

Role of Interns:

  • Upon selection, each intern is required to attend the Pre-internship Induction Program and related activities;
  • Each intern is required to finish the placement (70 hours) within April to July in one placement organization, the work schedule would be assigned by placement organization after the coordination between organization and intern;
  • Each intern shall commit to the internship and shall not withdraw unless for inevitable reasons;
  • Each intern is required to provide prior notification if you are unable to show up on time or carry out your duty, due to illness or fever, or any other reasons, so that other arrangements can be made;
  • Each intern is required to make best effort in the implementation of projects assigned; and
  • Each team is required to submit a report addressing lessons learnt and achievements upon the completion of internship.

 

Interns are recommended to assist NGOs in the following areas:

  • Liaison work of business project or community activities that help strengthen partnership between the non-profit organization and other sectors; and
  • Publicity and brand building activities of the non-profit organization (e.g. production of promotional materials, video production, social media, and liaison work of promotional activities, etc.), that enhance public awareness of the organization in the community.

 

Selection Procedures:

  • College reference: teachers will be invited to nominate suitable students from each college;
  • Sharing statement;
  • Performance in interview; and
  • Recent volunteer and work experience in NGOs and community groups will also be considered.

 

Internship Allowance:

Each intern will be given an allowance of HK$3,200 upon successful completion of the internship and submission of report.

  • 於車站大堂及月台主動為乘客提供關懷備至的服務,包括維持乘客上落列車秩序、解答乘客查詢及處 理車站人流等;
  • 執行上司指派之職務,如協助推廣活動工作;
  • 需穿著制服工作。

 

資格 ﹕

  • 中三或同等程度並具三年或以上待客或相關工作經驗;或
  • 完成中五/具香港中學文憑或同等程度;
  • 須操流利粵語、懂英語及略懂普通話;
  • 須主動有禮並具備良好溝通及待客技巧;
  • 時薪為 57 元,在職期間因工作需要可免費乘搭港鐵。
  • 申請者如可在港島綫或荃灣綫於以下主要時段工作,可獲優先考慮:
  • 星期一至五/六:下午 5 時 30 分至 7 時 30 分
