Training Services (Project CARATS)

Career Advisory Resources and Training Services Project (Project CARATS) aims to equip students of the Community College of City University for joining society’s workforce and improve their employability upon graduation by providing them with comprehensive career-related learning opportunities and support training. With the establishment of Project CARATS Office, a series of career preparation training seminars, workshops, company visits, internship and job-shadowing programmes will be organized. Through these activities, participating students will be able to develop essential job application and interview skills. They will also acquire practical knowledge and realistic understanding of the employment market, reflect on their interest in the relevant industry and enhance their personal attributes like self-confidence, communication and self-presentation skills.

The Summer Internship Programme 2018 of Hong Kong Housing Society (HKHS) now invites applications from students who are interested in undergoing internship programme from mid-June to mid-August this year.

 

The Summer Internship Programme

  1. The internship period is normally from mid-June to mid-August
  2. Students who will continue studying in the year of 2018/2019 are welcome for this internship programme. Students in final year study may visit HKHS website for other career opportunities.
  3. All selected summer interns are required to attend a closing ceremony in August
  4. Apart from on-the-job training, the programme may include workshops to enhance the personal development of the students
  5. Salary will be provided for all summer interns with reference to the general market rate
  6. Evaluation will be conducted upon completion of the summer internship programme to collect comments from both the summer interns and their mentors

  • Majoring in Applied Social Sciences, Psychology, Counseling, Social Studies, Social Work

 

Role of Interns:

  • Upon selection, each intern is required to attend the Pre-internship Induction Program and related activities;
  • Each intern is required to finish the placement (70 hours) within April to July in one placement organization, the work schedule would be assigned by placement organization after the coordination between organization and intern;
  • Each intern shall commit to the internship and shall not withdraw unless for inevitable reasons;
  • Each intern is required to provide prior notification if you are unable to show up on time or carry out your duty, due to illness or fever, or any other reasons, so that other arrangements can be made;
  • Each intern is required to make best effort in the implementation of projects assigned; and
  • Each team is required to submit a report addressing lessons learnt and achievements upon the completion of internship.
