All students are required to complete an individual project under the supervision of academic staff in the School. The aims of the final year project are to provide students with the opportunity to collaborate with sustainability teams in the private and public sectors, or to develop entrepreneurial projects. This experience will allow students to demonstrate their creativity and ability to undertake industrially-related or research-type project work across various sectors, illustrating their expertise in sustainability, specifically in areas related to environmental, economic, and social dimensions. Through the final year project, students will showcase their initiative and intellectual achievement, a deep understanding of the chosen subject matter, and the practical application of knowledge in mathematics, science, engineering, economics, and policy to arrive at innovative solutions. The students will also enhance their problem-solving skills, demonstrate independence, build self-confidence, and develop their ability to make effective oral presentations and produce comprehensive written reports.
