Course Aims

This course aims to provide students with comprehensive knowledge of the history of Hong Kong and its rich cultural legacy and to familiarize students with the role of Hong Kong played in Chinese history and world history. They will also be able to appreciate the rich diversity of historical and cultural treasures and identify the issues of conserving the tangible and intangible cultural heritage and their impact on society, so as to develop their analytical skills and historical awareness by linking up the past and the present, the history and the contemporary.
