Course Aims | ||||||||||
The course helps students to engage in the following learning activities: discuss the origin and structure of the Earth and the Solar system; discover the principles and forces that govern the planetary formation and its motions; appreciate the wonder of planets & stars; explore the deep space using telescopes; analyse the characteristics of the Earth; discover the link between the Universe and humans; review the histories and features of Chinese and Western astronomies; explore the similarities and differences; explore hypotheses of cutting age issues such as the big bang, the past and future of the Universe and the meaning of life; compare the origin and evolution of stellar and human life; and present the findings in a group project report with creativity and imagination. | ||||||||||
