Course Aims

The aim of this course is to allow students to develop an understanding of basic electronics from a practical, systems level. This is the first part of two one-semester linked courses. It is designed to cover introductory circuit theory, analyse and design a simple BJT amplifier, and to introduce the concepts of digital logic families.

The course is taught in studio-mode.

Assessment (Indicative only, please check the detailed course information)

Continuous Assessment: 40%
Examination: 60%
Examination Duration: 2.5 hours
Remarks: To pass the course, students are required to achieve at least 35% in the examination, 40% in coursework and 75% lab attendance.
