Course Aims

The BACUHM programme aims to provide a great emphasis on training in language competence in English and Chinese as relevant to the cultural and heritage sectors. This course is one of the two required courses (CAH2512 and CAH3513) in the training of students’ bilingual skills in disseminating and promoting culture and heritage, and lays the foundation of students’ bilingual communication skills to be cultural professionals.

This course introduces students to the basic techniques and theories of practical writing and develops students’ bilingual writing abilities for the purpose of bilingual communication in the cultural industries. It puts focus on skills needed for effective writing of business letters, invitation cards and letters, letters to policy makers, memorandum, posters and notices, analytical and informational reports, as well as instructional guides in the contexts of cultural industries.
