Aims of Minor

This minor aims to introduce students to some key ideas, theories, methods and issues of international studies. A broad focus on social science traditions and methods and globalization is complemented by a specific emphasis on international relations and international political economy, while electives allow students to explore issues and societies in Asia and other world regions. 

Intended Learning Outcomes of Minor (MINILOs)

Upon successful completion of this Minor, students should be able to: 
  1. Identify a range of issues that are relevant to contemporary international relations and the political economy in Asia and beyond, and their relevance for Hong Kong organizations, business, and government. 
  2. Explore them independently through the use of a range of social science research methods and techniques of data collection and analysis, applying transferable skills which are valuable for employment to a variety of work settings.
