This course aims to enable students to:
- Understand essential theoretical concepts in sociolinguistics.
- Apply these concepts to the analysis and discussion of language and society.
- Understand various sociolinguistic methodologies.
- Evaluate language issues in the Hong Kong context from a sociolinguistic perspective.
