Programme Transfer (applicable to Associate Degree students from the College of Engineering only)

 

Eligibility

Associate Degree students from the College of Engineering (CENG) may apply for transfer to another programme offered by CENG during specific periods.  

Bachelor’s degree students who wish to change their major should apply through the Change of Home Major exercise.

 

Points to Note for Application

CENG Associate Degree students should submit their application form for programme transfer to the Academic Regulations and Records Office (ARRO) Service Centre. The application periods for 2022/23 are as follows:

* Programme Transfer exercise will be discontinued starting from the academic year 2023/24 hence the last round will be held in April 2023.

 Please note the following:

  • Applications are only accepted during stipulated application periods.
  • The application form is obtainable from the ARRO website or the ARRO Service Centre during stipulated application periods.
  • An application fee of $100 will be charged for each programme transfer request. The application fee is non-refundable.
  • Student's home academic unit will be notified of his/her application for programme transfer at the application stage, and of the application result when available.
  • For students who are awarded a scholarship for their current programme of study (such as UGC Mainland Student Scholarship, CityU Mainland Student Scholarship, etc.), transferring to another programme may affect their eligibility for receiving the scholarship. Hence, before submitting an application, students should ensure that they have obtained approval from the relevant authority to transfer their scholarship to the requested programme if the application for programme transfer is successful. Approved Applications for Programme Transfer
  • Approved applications for programme transfer will take effect from the following semester.
  • For approved applications, all courses and grades from the previous programme will be included in the GPA calculation for the student’s transferred programme, unless special approval for exclusion of any specific courses is granted.
  • For non-local students, the approved request for programme transfer will be sent to the Hong Kong Immigration Department for final endorsement before the transfer comes into effect.
