Abstract
Computer-Assisted Simulation System for Orthognathic Surgery (CASSOS) is a professional surgical planning system that provides a comprehensive range of functionalities for maxillofacial surgeons to manage and produce surgical plans prior to the actual surgery. CASSOS facilitates surgeons to evaluate different surgical plans, predict the outcome of the surgery such as the movement of bone segments and soft-tissue, and compare between pre- and post-operation appearance using advanced image processing and graphics techniques. CASSOS has undergone clinical tests in a number of well-known dental centres in the UK, Shanghai and Hong Kong and is well received by the market. CASSOS earned the researchers a First Prize (Health Category) of the Asia-Pacific Information and Communication Technology Award (APICTA) 2003 and a Silver Award of the IT Excellence Awards 2002.

簡介
CASSOS是首個在香港本土開發的手術模擬預測系統，它為正頜外科提供了全面的醫療記錄和圖像管理功能。正頜外科就是藉著手術，使頜面部畸形患者的面部骨骼，恢復到正常的解剖和功能位。CASSOS是一個高度互動的綜合軟件系統，運行於經濟實用的個人電腦視窗作業系統上，為正畸和正頜外科提供了正面及側面的頭部測量分析、手術計劃編制和軟組織改變的預測等功能。CASSOS不但提高了手術醫生的工作效率，並為面部手術設計提供了較精確的參考資料，而且有效地促進患者與醫生的溝通。特別的是CASSOS是亞洲第一個將高級邏輯演算法運用於核心技術中的正頜外科軟件系統，因此它較其他同類軟件系統更為準確，CASSOS 同時也為手術醫生提供了全面的報告和比較功能。 到目前為止，CASSOS已為香港，中國，南亞和歐洲等國家和地區的主要醫院所採用。此系統榮獲香港電腦學會頒發2002資訊科技卓越成就獎銀獎及2003亞太資訊及通訊科技大獎(保健組)。
