Abstract
Many products such as electronic components are very small in size and similar in outlook. They are identified by the codes printed on them. Automated identification and inspection of such products by machine vision is desired as it increases the accuracy and efficiency in production. However, existing products of vision software tend to be too complicated for use without special expertise. They are also too expensive. Dedicated vision systems are developed for specific applications and normally not flexible for other applications. In light of the above, we have developed a vision system to provide a simple and low-cost solution to such automation problems. This system is designed such that it can easily adapt to changing environments and requirements.
