The CAVETM system is a 3D video and audio environment theater. It is made up of three rear-projection screens for walls and a down-projection screen for the floor. It connects with visualization server which provides the video and audio outputs for 3D image and surround sound. As a user wearing a location tracking sensor moves around inside the CAVE's display boundaries and grabs the virtual reality objects by wand-like device, the correct perspective projections are updated, and the image surrounds user.

A reconfigurable CAVETM display system can be reconfigured as CAVETM mode, L-wall mode and flat wall mode.
