Short Bio

Dr. Ai is Director of Knowledge Transfer at the City University of Hong Kong. Before May of 2014, he worked for Stanford University's Office of Technology Licensing for six years, managing 380 inventions while spearheading Stanford's effort to market its technologies to China. Earlier, he was EVP at SUNeVision Ventures of Sun Hung Kai Group and opened up its first overseas VC office in San Francisco. Previously, Dr. Ai founded WebJK in Beijing, building an award winning healthcare website - JK123.com, and secured a $6M VC investment in the first foreign-owned cancer center in Shanghai as the interim CEO. Earlier, he was VP and General Manager at Varian Medical (NYSE: VAR), VP of Marketing at Cirque Corporation (acquired by ALPS of Japan), and Project Manager at Hewlett-Packard. Dr. Ai received a BS in psychology from National Taiwan University, an MS in computer science from Indiana University, an MBA from Stanford University, and most recently a J.D. from Santa Clara University. He is a registered patent attorney in California.
